This course has been structured around the six dreams that occur in the Gospel of Matthew so that each of the modules explores one of them sequentially as they appear in the Text. It is hoped that overall, it will offer you the opportunity to work with the veiled nature of the Text, in particular to those sleepy early states of awakenings in which Lord is trying to communicate to us in and make a connection.  You will specifically be offered tasks to work with dreams in the Word and then Swedenborg’s dreams and finally to work in the same way with your own dreams. You’ll be invited to do this work all from the perspective of what the Word teaches as the one who is doing the observing of these for you, working with your sense of self as its willing instrument.

You will also be given an opportunity to explore the nature of awakenings, on whatever scale you might experience them.  Whether they be big earth-shattering experiences or small little ‘a ha’ moments as an insight in the Word pops into view, or as the message of a dream becomes clear, or as the illustration of your own processes is illuminated for you.

And finally, you will be offered an insight into Swedenborg’s own spiritual awakening and of the universal processes that he experienced that might speak to anyone undergoing a similar transformation as the Word awakens them.

Modules 2-5 each in turn offers an opportunity to work with a dream in the Word, with a dream of Swedenborg’s and with one of your own dreams. This involves practice in using the ‘In Me’ tool and then in reading space, time, objects and people spiritually. The final two modules then move into an in-depth reflection on your own awakening journey thus far, an exploration on Swedenborg’s early awakening experiences and of the universal patterns that can be seen in these processes. The works penned by Emanuel Swedenborg offer a revolutionary rethink on the nature and application of biblical truths or principles as a guide as to what it means to live a spiritual life. They offer a new form of Christianity, that we call Spiritual Christianity. In support of this, these doctrines for Spiritual Christianity provide profound insights into the person and life of Jesus Christ as depicted in the biblical record which enables a shift in our understanding so that every aspect of His life can be read symbolically. When this is done, the Bible then describes the operation of the Divine Truth, the Logos, within the psychological world of every human mind in the here and now, as opposed to an historical figure operating in the past within a given time and space.

In this course we shall explore some of the key concepts that form the theological basis for Spiritual Christianity. These concepts also underpin the spiritual practice called Logopraxis which, simply means the practice of the Word or Logos. Each subsection of this course contains between 8-12 modules consisting firstly of a short 4-8 minute video and supporting quotes from the doctrines for Spiritual Christianity. The material that then follows is offered as a means of consolidating the central principles which the video and quotes present and include: an overview of the main points, a set of multiple choice and reflective questions, and some meditative and creative exercises.

As we delve into the teachings we will unravel the intricacies of spiritual development embedded in the Word, unveiling the laws that govern our journey towards a more profound connection with the Divine. It is hoped that you will gain insights that illuminate the infinite tapestry of emotions and thoughts which shape our individual and collective human consciousness.
